125. Alif, Ism-e-Zaat
عاشق راز ماہی دے کولوں ، کدی نہ ہوون واندے ھُو
نیندر حرام تنہاں تے ہوئی، جیہڑے اِسمِ ذات کماندے ھُو
ہِک پَل مول آرام نہ کردے، دِینہہ رات وَتن کُرلاندے ھُو
جنہاں الف صحی کر پڑھیا بَاھُوؒ، واہ نصیب تنہاندے ھُو

ਆਸ਼ਕ ਰਾਜ਼ ਮਾਹੀ ਦੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ, ਕਦੀ ਨਾ ਹੋਵਣ ਵਾਂਦੇ ਹੂ
ਨੀਂਦਰ ਹਰਾਮ ਤਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੇ ਹੋਈ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸਮ-ਏ-ਜ਼ਾਤ ਕਮਾਂਦੇ ਹੂ
ਹਿਕ ਪਲ ਮੂਲ ਅਰਾਮ ਨਾ ਕਰਦੇ, ਦੀਂਹ ਰਾਤ ਵੱਤਣ ਕੁਰਲਾਂਦੇ ਹੂ
ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਲਿਫ਼ ਸਹੀ ਕਰ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਬਾਹੂ(ਰਹ), ਵਾਹ ਨਸੀਬ ਤਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੂ

Aashiq raaz maahee de kolon, kadee na hovan vaande Hoo

Hik pal mool aaraam na karde, denh raat vatan kurlaande Hoo
Jinhaan Alif sahee kar parhiaa Bahoo, wah naseeb tinhaande Hoo

The lovers, not once are unoccupied from the Beloved’s enigma
Sleep is barred for them who earn the name of the Essence
Don’t take rest for a moment. Wander about day and night, restlessly
Those who recited Alif aptly, O Bahoo, how fortunate for them
Explanation by Sultan ul Ashiqeen
Divine lovers always protect secrets of the Beloved. They are in fact those who have received the gnosis of Ism-e-Allah Zaat and have become aware of the secrets which keep them anxious and restless. They can neither sleep nor rest rather implore day and night before Allah with grief and pain to never keep them away from Himself because deprivation from the vision of Allah is the biggest of all misfortunes in both the worlds. How fortunate are those who have been blessed with the secret of Ism-e-Allah Zaat!
