76. Arrogant Hafiz and Mullah
حافظ پڑھ پڑھ کرن تکبّر، مُلّاں کَرن وڈیائی ھُو
ساون مانہہ دے بدلاں وانگوں، پھرن کتاباں چائی ھُو
جِتھے ویکھن چنگا چوکھا، اُوتھے پڑھن کلام سوائی ھُو
دونیں جہانیں مُٹھے بَاھُوؒ، جنہاں کھادِی ویچ کمائی ھُو

ਹਾਫ਼ਜ਼ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਕਰਨ ਤਕੱਬਰ, ਮੁੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਹੂ
ਸਾਵਣ ਮਾਂਹ ਦੇ ਬੱਦਲ਼ਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ, ਫਿਰਨ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ਚਾਈ ਹੂ
ਜਿੱਥੇ ਵੇਖਣ ਚੰਗਾ ਚੋਖਾ, ਉਥੇ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਕਲਾਮ ਸਵਾਈ ਹੂ
ਦੋਨੀਂ ਜਹਾਨੀਂ ਮੁੱਠੇ ਬਾਹੂ(ਰਹ), ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਖਾਦੀ ਵੇਚ ਕਮਾਈ ਹੂ

Saavan maah de badalaan vaangoon, phiran kitaabaan chaaee Hoo
Jitthe wekhan changaa chokhaa, othe parhhan kalam savaaee Hoo
Doneen jahaanee mutthe Bahoo, jinhaan khaadee vech kamaaee Hoo

Hafiz learns and relearns only to become arrogant. Mullah boasts of knowledge
Holding books and roving as monsoon clouds
Reciting eloquently with bribes inflating
Deal in selling faith, O Bahoo, they lose in both the world and the hereafter
Explanation by Sultan ul Ashiqeen
Arrogant hafiz and scholars use their knowledge for materialistic purposes and interpret religion according to the wishes of people for earning wealth. In this way, they mislead people by hiding reality of the religion. They will remain deprived of blessings of Allah in both the world and the hereafter as they sell their knowledge and faith for the materialistic world.
