Efforts to Invite Towards Faqr

Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen Sultan Mohammad Najib-ur-Rehman intensely felt that the religious scholars and so called spiritual guides of today lay great emphasis on materialistic aspects and physical endeavours. They do not have the spiritual knowledge and gnosis of Allah, through which spiritual link is created with Allah. Neglecting the soul of this pure religion they have divided Muslims into physical groups and sects. Due to this they have lost the status of being a nation. Now the time has come to invite Muslims towards the soul of Islam and towards its real worship which would sanctify them of esoteric diseases like greed, jealousy, arrogance and malice etc. This sanctification would purify their spiritual selves, hence, would lead to spiritual elevation towards Divine proximity. For all this it is necessary to adopt the way of Faqr.

Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen Sultan Mohammad Najib-ur-Rehman, after adorning the throne of Divine guidance and persuasion of Sarwari Qadri order, has expended all his spiritual and physical resources and energy in the spiritual reformation of the Muslim nation so that they can be strengthened and bettered. Following are the details of his physical and spiritual struggles to simplify the soul of Islam, ‘Faqr’, for the seekers of Allah and to spread it among the Muslim nation.

SPIRITUAL ENDEAVOURS AND MARVELS

Faqr is the way of spiritual self and it is the reality. Unless a person is spiritually made righteous he can never be outwardly improved. The person is pretentious and deceptive who without spiritual reformation appears to be pious. The Holy Prophet said:

 کُلُّ بَاطِنٍ مُخَالِفٌ لِّلظَّاھِرٍفَھُوَ بَاطِلٌ

Meaning: Every spiritual self which is opposite to outward being is surely false.

Whether a person’s individual reformation is concerned or that of the society, it is not possible without the restoration of the spiritual self and even if it is done, it will be temporary because ultimately everyone returns to what they are in inward. This is the reason that the Holy Prophet primarily sanctified the innerselves of the Arab society by his spiritual sight and then revolutionized them outwardly. This is the Mohammadan way to make any society a welfare state and without a doubt this is the perfect method. This is why, Allah Almighty did not command prayers and other forms of physical worships in the initial thirteen or fourteen years of Islam. It will be understood, if looked in detail in the verses revealed in Makkah that Allah has ordered more and more towards the invocation of the name of Allah (  i.e. Ism-e-Allah Zaat).

اِقْرَاْ بِاسْمِ رَبِّکَ الَّذِیْ خَلَقَ

Meaning: O’ beloved! Read with the name of your Holy Lord , Who has created everything. (Al-Alaq-1)

سَبِّحِ اسْمَ رَبِّکَ الْاَعْلٰی

Meaning: Glorify the personal name of your Holy Lord ( اللہ ), the most High. (Al-Ala-1)

وَ اذْکُرِ اسْمَ رَبِّکَ وَ تَبَتَّلْ اِلَیْہِ تَبْتِیْلًا

Meaning: And continue invoking the personal name of your Holy Lord ( اللہ ), being devoted to Him alone (in your heart and soul) and broken away from everyone else.(Al-Muzzammil-08)

The rightful way to sanctify and modify spiritual self is through the all-powerful spiritual sight of the Universal Divine Man and the invocation of Ism-e-Allah Zaat. Spiritual righteousness is the only reason and mirror to exoteric improvement. When both the physical and spiritual self are put to right of citizens then it results in the salvation of whole society.

All spiritual guides of the Sarwari Qadri order have followed the Mohammadan way to sanctify the inciting innerself (Nafs-e-Ammarah) and make righteous the spiritual self of seekers of Allah. In all the eras, other than that of Ghaus-ul-Azam Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani, this path was hidden from common people. Only a few special and chosen seekers of Allah knew about it. The main reason behind it was that people didn’t seek it due to love for the material world and sectarianism. When no one wanted to find the truth it concealed itself from them. Saints are sent to this material world to bestow esoteric blessings and not to hide them but when no one seeks them then upon whom they shall bestow it! Allama Iqbal points to this disorientation in the following verse:

جلوۂ طور تو موجود ہے کوئی موسیٰ ؑ ہی نہیں

Explanation: The Divine theophany manifested at Mount Sinai is still achievable but no one seeks it that was once so desired by Prophet Moses.

Although the spiritual orders secretly continued in every age and beneficence was granted to those sincere seekers of Allah who always sought Saints to quench thirst of their souls.

The grand contribution of Sultan-ul-Faqr VI Sultan Mohammad Asghar Ali in the history of Faqr and spiritualism is that he granted the beneficence of Ism-e-Allah Zaat not only to the seekers of Allah but to general public as well. The rule of Saints prior to him was “to unveil Ism-e-Allah Zaat is forbidden” but he changed it to “veiling Ism-e-Allah Zaat is forbidden”. Therefore now everyone is invited to have the invocation and contemplation of the greatest name of Allah Almighty, which is Ism-e-Allah Zaat, in order to be blessed with the Divine vision and presence of the Mohammadan Assembly. Allama Iqbal pointed towards this in his verse:

چھپایا حسن کو اپنے کلیم ؑ اللہ سے جس نے
وہی ناز آفریں ہے جلوہ پیرا نازنینوں میں

Explanation: Allah, Who ordered (you cannot look upon Me) to Prophet Moses, is now unveiled and is seated among his seekers. Seek His vision, if your intentions are pure you will find Him.

His order and method had been to convert common Muslims into seekers of Allah and then he would take them to proximity and vision of Allah. The same method has been taken by his spiritual successor Sultan-ul-Ashiqeen Sultan Mohammad Najib-ur-Rehman. Furthermore, he is creating more ease in this way for the seekers of Allah. This is to make Faqr accessible for the common man so to achieve purpose of life and be acceptable in the court of Allah. Without a doubt, his sacred self is the blessing of Allah Almighty for the faithful. The subsequent topics mention his spiritual endeavours which are taken to make the path of Faqr easy for the common man. It is so that everyone can benefit by reaching the level of faithful after sanctification from the inciting innerself. Then the reality of this pure religion will be opened on everyone. By following this sacred religion we will succeed on the Day of Judgement as well as become a strong nation which is better than all the other nations.
