Aftab e Faqr (The Sun of Faqr | Sultan ul Ashiqeen)

THE HIDDEN TREASURE:

This article is about Aftab e Faqr Sultan ul Ashiqeen Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman. Allah created this universe and everything in it for His manifestation and recognition. Allah says in Qudsi Hadith:

کُنْتُ کَنْزًا مَخْفِیًا فَاَحْبَبْتُ اَن اُعْرَفَ فَخَلَقْتُ الْخَلْقَ

Meaning: I was a hidden treasure, I desired to be recognized for which I created the creation.

The purpose of the creation of mankind, is the recognition of Allah. Hence, the world is a trial for man due to which it is an exam hall. Allah’s recognition is impossible without His vision and closeness. The way to the vision and closeness of Allah is the Straight Path (sirat al mustaqim). Satan distracts man from this path. Satan was insolent and disobedient to Allah and became ignorant and misguided. Hence, he has vowed to misguide the progeny of Adam till the doomsday. This is explained in detail in sura al Araf.

SATAN’S VOW IN THE QURAN:

The Holy Quran says:

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَاكُمْ ثُمَّ صَوَّرْنَاكُمْ ثُمَّ قُلْنَا لِلْمَلَآئِكَةِ اسْجُدُواْ لِآدَمَ فَسَجَدُواْ إِلاَّ إِبْلِيسَ لَمْ يَكُن مِّنَ السَّاجِدِينَ۔ قَالَ مَا مَنَعَكَ أَلاَّ تَسْجُدَ إِذْ أَمَرْتُكَ قَالَ أَنَاْ خَيْرٌ مِّنْهُ خَلَقْتَنِي مِن نَّارٍ وَخَلَقْتَهُ مِن طِينٍ۔ قَالَ فَاهْبِطْ مِنْهَا فَمَا يَكُونُ لَكَ أَن تَتَكَبَّرَ فِيهَا فَاخْرُجْ إِنَّكَ مِنَ الصَّاغِرِينَ۔ قَالَ أَنظِرْنِي إِلَى يَوْمِ يُبْعَثُونَ۔ قَالَ إِنَّكَ مِنَ المُنظَرِينَ۔ قَالَ فَبِمَا أَغْوَيْتَنِي لَأَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَاطَكَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ۔ ثُمَّ لَآتِيَنَّهُم مِّن بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ وَعَنْ أَيْمَانِهِمْ وَعَن شَمَآئِلِهِمْ وَلاَ تَجِدُ أَكْثَرَهُمْ شَاكِرِينَ۔ قَالَ اخْرُجْ مِنْهَا مَذْؤُومًا مَّدْحُورًا لَّمَن تَبِعَكَ مِنْهُمْ لَأَمْلأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ۔

Meaning: And certainly, We did create you (i.e., your real being), then gave you shape (i.e., accomplished the phases of chemical and biological genesis and evolution of life till the completion of the physical existence of Adam). Then We commanded the angels: ‘Prostrate yourselves before Adam.’ They all prostrated themselves except Iblis; he was not of those who prostrate themselves. (Allah) said: ‘(O Iblis!) What inhibited you that you did not prostrate yourself when I commanded you?’ He said: ‘I am better than he. You have created me from fire and You have made him from clay.’

(Allah) said: ‘So, get you down from here. You have no right to show arrogance here. Away with you (from My presence)! You are certainly of the disgraced and the humiliated lot.’He (Iblis) said: ‘Grant me respite (to live) till the Day when people will be raised up (from the graves).’ (Allah) said: ‘Indeed, you are of those granted respite.’ He (Iblis) said: ‘Since You have led me astray, (I swear that) I will (also) sit on Your straight path (to waylay the children of Adam till I cause them to deviate from the path of truth).

I will assuredly approach them from their front, from their rear, from their right and from their left, and (consequently) You will not find most of them grateful.’ Allah commanded: ‘(O Iblis!) Be gone from here, humiliated and cursed. Whoever of them will follow you, I will certainly fill Hell with all of you. (al Araf 7:11-18)

SATAN AND IGNORANCE:

Satan tries his best to deviate man from the path of Allah. Through the prevalence of inciting innerself, he guides man to the darkness of ignorance. Therefore, this is the reason why ignorance and perversity have become common. Hence, everyone who is engaged in materialistic desires is oblivious to the Essence of Allah. Therefore, such a person remains anxious and restless. Moreover, this is equivalent to not having faith (Tawakkal) in Allah which is why man is surrounded with problems.

ALLAH LOVES US MORE THAN 70 MOTHERS:

Allah loves us more than 70 mothers. Therefore, He never leaves man alone in times of darkness and wrongdoing. Moreover, Allah appoints His pious men to guide men and forbid them from wrongdoing. Further, these pious and wise men are the Prophets sent in different eras for specific nations and communities. Furthermore, after Prophet Mohammad, the system of Prophethood ended. However, Allah continued the process of guidance though the Mohammadan heritage of Faqr in the form of his heirs i.e. Perfect Fakirs. Hence, this would continue till the doomsday.

TH UNIVERSAL DIVINE MAN AFTAB E FAQR SULTAN MOHAMMAD NAJIB UR REHMAN:

It is impossible that Allah, who is ar Rahman (most Merciful) and ar Rahim (most Gracious), would place man under a trial without giving a way of resolving it. If Allah has sent us in this world for His recognition, then how is it possible that He did not send a guide, medium or way for it? Hence, the medium is the Universal Divine Man (al Insan al Kamil). Therefore, each era has one representative of Prophet Mohammad present in the form of the Universal Divine Man. Moreover, he is the manifestation of Divine Essence and exactly on the footsteps of Prophet Mohammad.

THE MOHMMADAN REALITY & AFTAB E FAQR SULTAN MOHAMMAD NAJIB UR REHMAN:

As long as Allah continues system of multiplicity of mankind, a Universal Divine Man would also exist among them. He would train the seekers of Allah the way Prophet Mohammad trained his Companions and showed them the Straight Path (sirat al mustaqim). The Universal Divine Man is the representative of Prophet Mohammad and the caliph of Allah of his era. Therefore, this phenomenon is called the Mohammadan Reality (haqeeqat e Mohammadia) among the Sufis and Fakirs.

Sayyid Abd al Karim bin Ibrahim al Jili’s writing Al Insan Al Kamil expounds the following belief:

The Mohammadan reality manifests in every era according to the most perfect form and grandeur of that era. This Universal Divine Man (al Insan al Kamil) is the successor (khalifa) of Prophet Mohammad in that era. (Al Insan Al Kamil)

PERFECT SPIRITUAL GUIDE AFTAB E FAQR SULTAN MOHAMMAD NAJIB UR REHMAN:

The Universal Divine Man who is worthy of the Divine Trust (Amanat e Elahiya) is also the Man of Divine Essence (sahib e musamma Murshid). He is the perfect spiritual guide who is absolute light of guidance. If the seekers of Allah find such a Murshid, then it is not difficult to reach the heights of Faqr.

Further, his grandeur is such that he grants the king of invocations (sultan al azkar) ‘Hoo’ (ھو) and Ism e Allah Zaat for contemplation on the first day of pledging allegiance. If a sincere seeker gets to find such a Murshid, he should make sure to stay close to him. However, it is difficult to find such perfect spiritual guide because he is not that famous. Moreover, only those seekers are able to recognize him who have set out in search of vision of Allah and presence in the Mohammadan Assembly.

IMAM OF THE ERA AFTAB E FAQR SULTAN MOHAMMAD NAJIB UR REHMAN:

As mentioned, Allah sends the Universal Divine Man in every era. The seekers of Allah of this age have recognized the Imam of this era. He is Aftab e Faqr, Shabeeh e Ghaus e Azam, Sultan ul Ashiqeen, Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman. After Sultan ul Faqr VI Sultan Mohammad Asghar Ali, Aftab e Faqr is the next perfect spiritual guide who is the absolute light of guidance.

وہی مجددِ دوراں وہی امامِ مبین

کہ ہے فقر کی امانت کا پاسبان نجیب

کون ہے جو تیرے اس رازِ ولایت تک پہنچے

اسم اللہ ہی بتائے تیرا عرفان نجیب

کتابِ فقر کا عنوان سلطان اصغرؒ ہیں

مگر ہے علم ِ تصوف کی داستان نجیب

وہ  جو  بیٹھا  ہے اِذَا تَمَّ الْفَقْرُ کی چادر اوڑھے

وہی ہے میرا مرشد کامل سلطان نجیب

Explanation: He is the reviver of religion and Imam e Mobeen who encompasses the whole universe. Najib is the sentinel of the Divine Trust of Faqr. Who can decipher the secret of your Sainthood? O Najib! Only Ism e Allah Zaat can reveal your true recognition. The title of the book of Faqr is Sultan Asghar but the story of the knowledge of power is Najib. He who wears the mantel of ‘where Faqr is accomplished that is Allah’, he is none other than my beloved Sultan Najib – the perfect Murshid.

BIRTH OF AFTAB E FAQR SULTAN MOHAMMAD NAJIB UR REHMAN:

Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman was born at 4:30 am on the Wednesday of 19th August 1959 at Bakhshan Khan tehsil Chishtian district Bahawalnagar. With regard to this sacred day, one of Aftab e Faqr’s khalifa, Sultan Mohammad Nasir Hameed has written a beautiful poem:

اللہ کا احسان 19 اگست کو تیرا ظہور ہوا

فقر کا نور پھیلا ظلمت کا اندھیرا دور ہوا

عاشقوں کے دل جس سے ہو گئے مسحور

اللہ کا ہے مظہر اور نبیؐ کا نور

سلطان العاشقین میرا مرشد ہے مشہور

Explanation: Allah has favoured the world on 19th August by your manifestation. The light of Faqr has overpowered and the darkness of ignorance is ending. The lamenting hearts of lovers have healed with the Divine manifestation and Mohammadan light of my beloved famous Murshid Sultan ul Ashiqeen.

CHILDHOOD OF AFTAB E FAQR SULTAN MOHAMMAD NAJIB UR REHMAN:

Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman has had a distinct childhood. Aftab e Faqr’s face exuded Divine light and innocence. Whoever beheld Aftab e Faqr’s sacred face, became eager to hold him. Since childhood, Aftab e Faqr was very particular about cleanliness. As a child, Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman was quite restless. Aftab e Faqr would not enjoy indulging too much in worldly activities. He was always in search of something. Aftab e Faqr preferred solitude.

AFTAB E FAQR SULTAN MOHAMMAD NAJIB UR REHMAN’S QUEST FOR ALLAH:

Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman was always in search of Divine Truth since childhood. With the passage of time, this feeling kept increasing. Apart from working hours, Aftab e Faqr would spend most of his time in reciting the Quran, invocations and offering supererogatory prayers. However, the restlessness within Aftab e Faqr, did not stop. In fact, it kept increasing. Aftab e Faqr was in search of that perfect spiritual guide who would take away his restlessness and grant him the closeness of Allah.

AFTAB E FAQR SULTAN MOHAMMAD NAJIB UR REHMAN’S SEARCH FOR MURSHID:

Aftab e Faqr saw the celestial countenance of that Perfect Murshid in his dreams. In addition, Aftab e Faqr searched for him in every corner of the city. At last, Aftab e Faqr found him on 12th April 1998 (15th Dhu al Hijjah 1418 H). Hence, this sacred entity shown to Aftab e Faqr by Allah, was the celestial soul of Sultan ul Faqr VI Sultan Mohammad Asghar Ali.

AFTAB E FAQR SULTAN MOHAMMAD NAJIB UR REHMAN PLEDGES ALLEGIANCE:

Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman did not waste a single second. He pledged allegiance to him on the same day. Additionally, Aftab e Faqr wore the robe of his slavery and displayed such an example of Divine love and submission that he became the chosen and spiritual paramour of his Murshid. Moreover, Aftab e Faqr’s Murshid fully tested him and he proved himself sincere and loyal each time. Therefore, on 1st March 2001, the Mohammadan Assembly appointed him as the heir of Divine Trust. After the demise of Sultan ul Faqr VI Sultan Mohammad Asghar Ali on 26th December 2003, Aftab e Faqr adorned the throne of Divine guidance and persuasion. Thereafter, Aftab e Faqr started guiding the seekers of Allah towards Faqr e Mohammadi. From this point, the Sun of Faqr (Aftab e Faqr) dawned in a different style.

THE SUN OF FAQR AFTAB E FAQR SULTAN MOHAMMAD NAJIB UR REHMAN:

Aftab e Faqr is reminiscent of Sun who enlightens everyone. The glow of his countenance is the moonlight in the darkness of the night of ignorance. Aftab e Faqr has an enchanting personality that attracts every pure soul and it helplessly pulls towards him. In addition, when a person draws near Aftab e Faqr, one’s existence engulfs in his beauty and one does not want to leave. Aftab e Faqr always greets everyone with a smile and initiates in saying Salam. Moreover, his way of talking is filled with respect regardless whether the person is rich or poor, young or old. Further, he prefers to converse in low tones. No one has ever heard him yelling or screaming at someone. Furthermore, when a disciple narrates a problem or matter, Aftab e Faqr listens with full attention and only answers after the disciple has finished. Additionally, he does not disrupt the conversation by talking in between. In case the conversation is inappropriate, he keeps his silence. Moreover, if someone praises him, he humbly replies that all praises belong only to Allah.

POETRY FOR AFTAB E FAQR SULTAN MOHAMMAD NAJIB UR REHMAN:

چہرے تے للہ دی نشانی مکھڑا تیرا ہے نورانی

مصطفی ٹاون وچ تخت تیرا سلطان نجیب جانی

اللہ نبی منظور کیتا ذات تیری ربانی

بیعت تینوں حضور کیتا پہنایا تاج سلطانی

بشریت تیری وچ ظہور کیتا شاہ محبوب جیلانیؓ

Explanation: Your face illuminates with Divinity and is a sign of Divine existence. Your throne stands tall in Mustafa town. Allah and His Messenger have approved your Divine existence. Prophet Mohammad has taken your pledge of allegiance and adorned you with the crown of Sultan. You are the reflection of Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani i.e. Shabeeh e Ghaus e Azam.

Hence, after adorning the throne of Divine guidance and persuasion, the only quest of Aftab e Faqr was to spread the beneficence of Faqr. With this perspective, Aftab e Faqr has struggled day and night. His unparalleled struggle has resulted in his disciples being all over the world. His spiritual power is proven by the fact that those disciples who live in far off places are still spiritually growing. In this era of materialism, Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman, is the symbol of mercy for humanity.

SPIRITUAL SIGHT OF AFTAB E FAQR SULTAN MOHAMMAD NAJIB UR REHMAN:

جو نہ ہو سکے بیان وہ ذات ہے تیری

لفظ بھی کم پڑ جائیں وہ شان ہے تیری

سیاہی بھی ختم ہو تعریف میں تیری

مر مٹیں بھی تو حق ادا نہ ہو عطا کا تیری

اے سلطان العاشقین ہر درد کا علاج اک نگاہ ہے تیری

Explanation: That which cannot be expressed is your existence. Your grandeur is such that words seem frail. The inks dry out in writing out your praises. You are that blessing whose gratitude cannot be displayed even if one sacrifices one’s life. O Sultan ul Ashiqeen! Your one glance is the antidote of all pains and miseries.

It is impossible to capture the amazing personality of Aftab e Faqr in words. Only Allah can express the grandeur of His beloved.

PHYSICAL BEAUTY OF AFTAB E FAQR SULTAN MOHAMMAD NAJIB UR REHMAN:

Aftab e Faqr is neither too tall nor too short. However, his grandeur, physique, and effect of turban is such that his persona gives a tall and grand look. His gaze is always low out of modesty. However, if a disciple is blessed with his sight, he ascends to Divine gnosis. Aftab e Faqr’s attributes are reflective of Prophet Mohammad and advocate that he is exactly on the footsteps of the Holy Prophet. Aftab e Faqr is extremely sensitive and empathetic towards his disciples and cannot bear to see them in difficulty. He listens to their grief and sorrows in such a charming way that every disciple gladly shares his/her issues with him. His countenance is full of light as if it is the source of the light to the entire world.

جلوہ بقدر ظرف دیکھتے رہے

کیا دیکھتے ہم ان کو مگر دیکھتے رہے

Explanation: I only saw according to my ability. How could I see him, I only kept staring.

Whoever beholds Aftab e Faqr, he becomes anxious to see his sacred face again. When he smiles, it feels as if the spring season has come spreading happiness everywhere. He is incomparable in his beauty and charm. He is often smiling which indicates his inner peace.

وہ تیرے حسن کی قیمت سے نہیں واقف

جو تیرے لب کو پنکھڑی کا بدل کہتے ہیں

Explanation: He is oblivious to the value of your beauty if he compares your lips to the petals of flowers.

TITLES OF AFTAB E FAQR SULTAN MOHAMMAD NAJIB UR REHMAN:

Allah has always maintained that he grants particular titles to his chosen ones according to their attributes and ranks so that the world may recognize their significance. Sultan ul Ashiqeen Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman has been granted the titles of Sultan Mohammad, Sultan ul Salikeen, Sultan ul Ashiqeen, Shabeeh e Ghaus ul Azam, Aftab e Faqr, Shan e Faqr, Sultan ul Zakireen.

AFTAB E FAQR’S TITLE SULTAN UL ASHIQEEN:

The title of Sultan ul Ashiqeen was granted to Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman on the basis of his attribute of Divine love. The Mohammadan Assembly granted it to him in September 2012. He has spent all his life in love of Allah and His Prophet Mohammad. His courage and struggles are a result of Divine love.

AFTAB E FAQR’S TITLE SULTAN UL SALIKEEN:

On 28th June 2019, a special disciple of Aftab e Faqr, Ruhina Farooq Sarwari Qadri was told through Ilm e Dawat (knowledge of communication with sacred souls of shrines) that among other titles, her Murshid also holds the title of Sultan ul Salikeen.

AFTAB E FAQR:

The contribution of Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman in the spread of Faqr is so immense that his Murshid Sultan ul Faqr VI Sultan Mohammad Asghar Ali has granted him the title of Aftab e Faqr. In his masterpiece of Divine inspiration, Sultan Bahoo writes:

“Prophet Mohammad has entitled me as Mustafa Sani (Mustafa the Second) and Mujtaba Akhir Zamani (Mujtaba of the Last Era) with his pearl divulging tongue.”(Risala Roohi Sharif)

AFTAB E FAQR’S TITLE MUSTAFA SANI & MUJTABA AHIR ZAMANI:

Both these titles are specific for Prophet Mohammad. ‘Mustafa’ and ‘Mujtaba’ mean “The Chosen and The Desired One”.  However, he himself blessed Sultan Bahoo with the titles of Mustafa Sani (Mustafa the second) and Mujtaba Akhir Zamani (Mujtaba of the last era). In addition, this is a symbolic reference to the fact that when the evil practices will become common in the Muslim society then Sultan Bahoo’s teachings will provide the Light of Righteousness and a Chosen One belonging to his Sarwari Qadri order will promote his teachings and guide the people on the Straight Path (sirat al mustaqim). Moreover, that person will be spiritually empowered by Sultan Bahoo because he himself will not be physically alive in the last era.

FOUNTAIN OF DIVINE LIGHT AFTAB E FAQR:

The following words of Sultan Bahoo have been transferring from generation to generation:

“When ignorance will prevail and falsehood will overcome the truth, there will be a variety of sects and groups among the Muslims, every sect will consider only itself on the Straight Path and all the others as depraved ones, people would hesitate to talk against the wrong sects, those falsely claiming to have the spiritual knowledge will disguise themselves as Saints and occupy the seats of shrines to plunder wealth by looting people, then the fountains of the Divine Light will sprout from my shrine.”

This statement is a prediction that in the last era one of his ardent devotees will kill the evil, revitalize and revive the real Islam under his spiritual guidance by promoting his teachings.

AFTAB E FAQR THE SUN OF FAQR:

In the following verses too, Sultan Bahoo is referring to the same fact:

چڑھ چناں تے کر رشنائی، ذکر کریندے تارے ھُو

گلیاں دے وچ پھرن نمانے، لعلاندے ونجارے ھُو

Meaning: O my enlightened moon of Faqr! You must rise soon and enlighten the world, which has been overcome by darkness. The seekers of Allah are wandering in search of the Divine Truth in this age of evil and are waiting for a true guide like you. Whenever they try to seek knowledge about the path of Truth from some guide, they discover him masked with deception. Hence, they are waiting for a true guide like you who will take the umma to the Straight Path.

Undoubtedly, Aftab e Faqr Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman is the Sun of Faqr which enlightens in the darkness of ignorance. In this era of materialism, Aftab e Faqr is the one who has stood up with the flag of Sultan Bahoo’s teachings. In addition, he is using various mediums to spread the bounty of Faqr in the entire world. Hence, the titles Mustafa Sani and Mujtaba Akhir Zamani are suited to Aftab e Faqr.

AFTAB E FAQR’S TITLE SHABEEH E GHAUS E AZAM:

The title of Shabeeh e Ghaus e Azam was granted to Aftab e Faqr from the Mohammadan Assembly. Aftab e Faqr was blessed with this title on the basis of the revival of the Mohammadan religion, Islam and the spread of Faqr in the world. Moreover, it was revealed to some of the disciples of Aftab e Faqr that he has been blessed with the title of Shabeeh e Ghaus e Azam from the sacred court of Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani. This was on the basis of his contributions to the spread of Faqr that revived Faqr in the same pattern of Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani.

AFTAB E FAQR’S TITLE SHAN E FAQR:

The Mohammadan Assembly graced Aftab e Faqr with another beautiful title known as Shan e Faqr. It was revealed that the way Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman is called Aftab e Faqr in the skies. Likewise, in nether region, he is called Shan e Faqr. This title was bestowed upon Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman because in Sarwari Qadri order, no other Shaikh except Sultan Bahoo manifested the kind of recognition and grandeur as he did. Aftab e Faqr is the one who acknowledged people with the personality and rank of the sacred Shaikhs of Sarwari Qadri order. In addition, Aftab e Faqr is the reason for which people are now aware of these sacred personalities. Therefore, the sacred Shaikhs have entitled him as Shan e Faqr.

AFTAB E FAQR’S TITLE SULTAN UL ZAKIREEN:

Sultan ul Zakireen is the attributive name of Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman. It is related to his amazing quality that he grants Ism e Allah Zaat’s final and greatest invocation Sultan al Azkar (king of invocations) of Hoo to all his disciples immediately after pledging allegiance. Sultan ul Zakireen means the king of those of those who invoke the king of invocations Hoo.

Aftab e Faqr Sultan ul Ashiqeen Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman, also practices religious tours to spread the bounty of Faqr from door to door. Moreover, his contributions and struggles in Faqr have a mark of their own. No matter how difficult it gets, Aftab e Faqr is always upfront in spreading the message of the Mohammadan Faqr.

PERFECT SPIRITUAL GUIDE AFTAB E FAQR SULTAN MOHAMMAD NAJIB UR REHMAN:

Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman is the Imam and perfect spiritual guide (Murshid Kamil Akmal) of this era. There is no one compared to Aftab e Faqr’s calibre and outstanding personality and purity of character. In this age, he is the one who enlightens the seekers of Allah with the gnosis (marifat) of Allah. It is entirely for this reason of gnosis and recognition of Allah that Aftab e Faqr grants the seekers of Allah with the beneficence of the invocation and contemplation of Ism e Allah Zaat.
