Mohammadan Light – The Origin of Whole Creation
The Mohammadan Light is the source and origin of whole creation. Allah says in Quran:
In the aforementioned verse, light and the enlightening book refer to the sacred being of the holy Prophet (pbuh). The reality of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) is light (Noor) however, his physical body was also so subtle that it was light (Noor) too. About this, Abdullah ibn Abbas (r.a.) says:
The holy Prophet (pbuh) did not have shadow. Whenever, the holy Prophet (pbuh) stood facing the sun, his light used to overcome the light of sun. Similarly, when he stood next to a lamp, his light used to overtake the light of lamp.
Prophet Mohammad had no shadow
It is proven through scientific research that every solid thing through which the light of sun cannot pass creates a shadow. On the opposite, anything through which the rays of sunlight can pass does not have shadow. As the holy Prophet (pbuh) had a being of light (both physically as well as inwardly), the rays of sunlight used to pass through and therefore, Prophet Mohammad had no shadow.
The fact is that the sun gets its light from Mohammadan Light.
So, how can it be possible that it would overcome the source from where its gets its light ?
Allah addresses the holy Prophet with different titles in Quran. At some point, He addresses him as Sirajam Muneera and at other places, He addresses as:
al-Najm, al-Shams or al-Qamar. Through all these metaphors, Allah expresses the fact that Mohammadan reality is in fact light.
The holy Prophet (pbuh) had a Brownish White complexion, forehead was wide, evenly spread teeth, balanced nose, black eyes, very attractive countenance, thick beard, long hands, fingers were thin, average height but he used to look very prominent amongst people. There were no hair on holy Prophet’s physique – only a thin row of hair from chest down to belly button.
The holy Prophet’s (pbuh) birth was not from his father’s semen but instead Angel Gabriel brought a fruit from heavens that BiBi Amina (holy Prophet’s mother) ate. This fruit was from Shajrah tun Noor (the tree of light). (Kaleed al-Tawheed)
The aforementioned narrations tell us that holy Prophet’s reality is light (noor) both physically as well as spiritually.
Allah says in Quran:
The likeness of His Light (which is glowing in the world in the form of Mohammad’s Light [blessings and peace be upon him]) is as a niche-like (sacred breast) wherein is glowing the lamp (of Prophethood), the lamp contained in a crystal globe (the radiant heart of Prophet Muhammad [blessings and peace be upon him]). This globe is (as dazzlingly bright owing to reflection of Allah’s Light) as a glittering star. (This lamp of Prophethood) is lit with the sacred olive tree (i.e. either due to the blissful communication of Divine Revelation from the Realm of Divinity, or owing to the blissful genealogical tree of the Prophets and the Messengers).
It is neither (merely) eastern nor western (rather universal and cosmic in its generously infinite luminosity. The likeness of this lamp of Prophethood is as if) its oil (i.e. Light, due to its genuine and inherent potential capability) is glowing, though no fire (or the radiation of celestial miracles and divine Revelation) has even touched it yet. (So it) is Light upon Light (i.e. the Light of Prophethood upon the Light of the Holy Essence, denoting a Self-Embodying double Light). Allah takes to (the gnosis of) His Light whom He wills. And Allah explains similitudes for (the guidance of) people and Allah is well aware of everything. (24: 35)
Abdullah ibn Abbas explains:
Niche-like is the sacred chest of the holy Prophet (pbuh), crystal globe is his heart and the lamp is the light that Allah has put in it. Which is neither western nor eastern i.e. its neither Arab nor non-Arab. It is lit by a sacred tree which is in fact the lineage of Prophet Ibrahim (a.s). The light of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) is light upon the light of Prophet Ibrahim (a.s).
The holy Prophet (pbuh) appeared in the world as Universal Divine Man. His appearance is man but his reality is light. Even, his physical being is so subtle and pure that he didn’t have shadow. (Mohammadan Reality)
شعورِ آدمیت ناز کر اس ذاتِ اقدس پر
تیری عظمت کا باعث ہے محمدؐ کا بشر ہونا
Explanation: O humanity, you should be proud of the sacred being (of Prophet Mohammad) as all your grandeur and superiority (over other creations) is due to holy Prophet (pbuh) being human.
Imam Abu Hanifa (r.a) whilst writing in honour of holy Prophet says:
- If holy Prophet didn’t exist, there would not have been anything – no human beings and no other creation. The sun and moon get their light from Mohammadan Light.
- Allah accepted repentance of Prophet Adam (a.s) when he made Prophet Mohammad medium despite the fact that he is (ancestral) father of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).
- When Prophet Ibrahim pleaded to Allah through the medium of Prophet Mohammad, the burning fire became harmless due to Mohammadan Light.
- When Prophet Job called Prophet Mohammad in trouble, his trouble went away.
- Prophet Jesus used to give glad tidings to his followers about the arrival of Prophet Mohammad.
Everyone amongst the Prophets and the whole of creation is under the umbrella of Prophet Mohammad (pbuh).(Mohammadan Reality)
Mohammadan Light is the reason for whole creation
Imam Hakim narrates in al-Mustadrak that Allah said to Prophet Adam, had I not created Mohammad (pbuh) I would not have created you. This proves the fact that Allah created the whole universe only for Prophet Mohammad.
Sultan Bahoo (r.a) says:
When The Divine Essence desired (to be manifested and recognised), He separated Ism-e-Zaat from Himself (i.e. manifested Himself in the form of Ism-e-Allah Zaat), from which manifested the Mohammadan Light (Noor-e-Mohammadi). When Allah looked into the mirror of His Divine Nature of Oneness and saw Noor-e-Mohammadi (as His reflection) in it, He was charmed and fascinated by His own Reflection (in the form of Noor of Mohammad) and entitled His Ownself as “Rab-ul-Arbab” (The Lord of all Lords) and “The Beloved of Allah”. (Ain-ul-Faqr)
Hence, Noor-e-Mohammadi is the mirror of The Divine Essence. Since YaHoot is the world of Wahdat or “Oneness” so it must be understood that Noor of Mohammad and Noor of Allah are not two separate entities, rather Noor of Mohammadi is exactly the Noor of Allah.
Hadiths about Mohammadan Light
Allah created Mohammadan Light from His own light. The following Hadiths refer to this fact:
اَوَّلُ مَا خَلَقَ اللّٰہُ نُوْرِیْ
First of Allah created my light.
اَوَّلُ مَا خَلَقَ اللّٰہُ رُوْحِیْ
First of all Allah created my soul.
اَنَا مِنْ نُّوْرِ اللّٰہِ تَعَالٰی وَکُلُّ خَلَائِقِ مِنْ نُّوْرِیْ
I am from the light of Allah and every creation is from my light.
Umar ibn al-Khattab relates from holy Prophet (pbuh):
“O Umar! Do you know who I am? I am the one whose light Allah created first of all. Then my light prostrated to Allah. It stayed in this state for seven hundred years. So, the thing that prostrated Allah first of all was my light. I am not saying this out of pride. O Umar! Do you know who I am? I am the one from whose light Allah created His throne, Chair, Sun, Moon, the light through which eyes see. Furthermore, He created intellect and the light of faith in inwards of Momins from my light. And I am not saying all this with pride.”
The fundamental point about Mohammadan Light is that every existence originated from Allah Almighty. Allah says, “If Mohammad (phub) did not exist nothing would have existed”. Neither manifestation of Allah nor the creation of the universe. The existence of this universe is due to Mohammadan Light. One can relate this to Miraj (The Night Journey). When the Holy Prophet ascended to heavens to meet Allah Almighty, the whole universe and everything within it came to a standstill as if life had been sucked out of it. And this continued until the holy Prophet (pbuh) returned to earth. Similarly, the Day of Judgement would not take place until, Mohammadan Light is present in this universe.
Mohammadan Light exists in everything
For example, if someone were to take a pot of water from a lake and then spread that into various smaller pots. And then if he adds different flavours of drinks in each, they will get different name and colour but their reality doesn’t change which is water.
The Companions who saw the holy Prophet in person, testify him being ‘Light’. Before describing their observations, it is worth mentioning that some people believe light (Noor) is opposite of a man’s physical being which is wrong. That’s because two opposite things cannot exist together. Whereas light and physical being of man do exist together. To explain this, angels are light but angel Gabriel used to appear in the form of a man in front of holy Prophet (pbuh).
Al-Bayhaqi, Al-Tabarani and Abu Naeem relate a long hadith from Utbah ibn Abd in which the following saying of the mother of the holy Prophet, Syedda Amina bint Wahab (r.a) is quoted:
“I saw that a theophany of light emerged from me that lit up the palaces of Shaam (Syria).” (al-Khasa’is al-Kubra, Vol 1)
Aisha bint Abi Bakr (r.a) relates that once the holy Prophet entered the house and he was in a very good mood. The features on his sacred countenance were lit up like the lightning.
Hassan ibn Thabit (r.a) narrates that when I observed the Noor of the holy Prophet (pbuh), I covered my eyes out of fear that I may loose my eyesight (as it was so bright).
Grandeur of Mohammadan Light
Ibn Asakir relates from Aisha bint Abi Bakr (r.a) that she said:
“Once I was sewing at dawn and I happened to drop the needle. I searched for it but in vain. Then holy Prophet (pbuh) came there and with the light and brightness of his sacred countenance, I found the lost needle. When I told holy Prophet about this, he said: ‘O Homeira! Death is for whom who did not strive to gain vision of my countenance’.”
The above hadith, where on one hand testifies the holy Prophet (pbuh) being Noor, at the same time also mandates to gain vision of his sacred countenance. If this only meant seeing the face of holy Prophet physically during his life of 63 years then how could those who were born before or after when the holy Prophet was present physically can save themselves from this destruction?
The answer to this is that the holy Prophet is The First, The Last, The Hidden and The Manifested. Therefore, the Mohammadan reality manifests in different forms in every age.
Transfer of Mohammadan Light through Generations
Allah transferred Mohammadan Light (Noor) to the being of Prophet Adam after creating him. It used to be prominent from his forehead. And he was told that this light was actually the last of prophets one who will be from his progeny and will be the leader of all prophets and messengers. (Mohammadan Reality)
It is famous about the ancestors of holy Prophet that to whomever, the Mohammadan Light (Noor) was transferred, it used to be prominent from their forehead. It is narrated in Al-Mawahib that the Mohammadan Light was very prominent on the forehead of Abd al-Muttalib (grandfather of holy Prophet) and scent of musk used to emit from his body. The Mohammadan Light was so prominent that even the kings used to get overwhelmed by it and obliged to respect Abd al-Muttalib. The Mohammadan Light then transferred from him to Abdullah ibn Abd al-Muttalib.
Now, if someone thinks that Mohammadan Light vanished with the physical demise of the holy Prophet (pbuh) then that would be totally wrong. The Mohammadan Light will remain in this world until the Day of Judgement. The holy Prophet is present inwardly today just like he used to be during his physical life amongst the Companion
Allama Iqbal’s Belief
Allama Iqbal says that :
I have firm belief that the holy Prophet (pbuh) is alive and blesses the people of this age just like he blessed his Companions. (Letter to Niaz uDin Khan, Fitrak-e-Rasool, Vol 7)
Indeed, the holy Prophet (pbuh) is the seal of all Prophets. There would be no prophet after him but his light (Mohammadan Light) will continue to be present and manifest in every era in the form of the Universal Divine Man of each era until the Day of Judgement. And he will bless his followers with his divine vision through that medium.
“Inwardly, presence in Mohammadan Assembly and Divine vision is present today just like it was during the time of Companions.”
Presence in Mohammadan Assembly is possible through the contemplation of Ism Allah Zaat and Ism Mohammad. For the Companions, Ism Allah Zaat was the sacred countenance of the holy Prophet (pbuh). Whereas, Ism Mohammad was his physical being. Now, that Prophet Mohammad is not physically present among us, the way to gain access to his sacred assembly is through the contemplation of Ism Allah Zaat and Ism Mohammad provided they are granted by a Perfect Spiritual Guide – i.e. the one whom the holy Prophet has himself spiritually permitted to guide the seekers of Allah on the path of Faqr. This means that one should search for the Universal Divine Man of the era and obtain his permission to contemplate Ism Allah Zaat and Ism Mohammad.
It is worth noting that the seeker who comes to the Universal Divine Man with pure intention to seek closeness and vision of Allah, finds out on the very first day whether the Murshid he has come to is perfect or not. Allah is the guarantor for those who have pure intention to seek Him. Sultan Bahoo (r.a) says:
روز و شب در طلب نبویؐ باحضور
مرد مرشد میرساند خاص نور
ہر کہ منکر میشود زیں خاص راہ
عاقبت کافر شود با روسیاہ
Explanation: Ask for the presence in Mohammadan Assembly day and night. But remember, only a Perfect Spiritual Guide can take a seeker to Mohammadan Light. Whoever denies this (Mohammadan Light) becomes infidel and unfortunate. (Majalisa Tun Nabi Khurd)
As described above, the Mohammadan Light manifests itself in each era in the form of the Universal Divine Man. That Universal Divine Man blesses the seekers of Allah with presence in Mohammadan Assembly and Divine vision.
The Universal Divine Man of present era is Sultan ul Ashiqeen Sultan Mohammad Najib ur Rehman. He has blessed countless seekers of Allah with Divine vision and presence in Mohammadan Assembly after cleansing their inwards with his spiritual attention. His doors are open for the seekers of Allah but it is upon the seekers to make an effort. Sultan ul Ashiqeen is spreading the blessings of Faqr amongst the masses. His spiritual lineage connects to the holy Prophet through the spiritual chain of Sarwari Qadri order. Whoever pledges allegiance to him connects with the holy Prophet spiritually.
Universal Divine Man is only one since pre-existence and that is the sacred being of the holy Prophet (pbuh). Who kept appearing in the world in the guise of prophets and messengers from Prophet Adam (a.s) and after the end of prophethood, in the guise of perfect Fakirs. And this will continue until the Day of Judgement.

Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) is the reason for creation. As discussed above in the blog, Allah first of all created the Mohammadan Light and then from it He created the whole universe. If it wasn’t for Prophet Mohammad, Allah would not have created anything. Prophet Mohammad is first and last. He is the leader of all prophets and messengers.
Universal Divine Man is only one since pre-existence and that is the sacred being of the holy Prophet (pbuh). Who kept appearing in the world in the guise of prophets and messengers from Prophet Adam (a.s) and after the end of prophethood, in the guise of perfect Fakirs.
